LAS VEGAS (KWU) - A family in Las Vegas was about to celebrate another Thanksgiving without their dad, when he surprised everyone by coming home early from Afghanistan.

Rylee Morse was taking part in a dance practice when Sergeant Major Ronald Morse walked through the door.

In video of the reunion, Morse can be seen running and jumping into her dad's arms. There wasn't a dry eye in the room after that.

But the reunion was far from over. Morse's other kids streamed into the room and spotted their dad, who was just back from a 14-month tour of duty in Afghanistan.

The only one in on the surprise was the children's mother, Tammy Morse, who wanted to create an unforgettable way to bring a family together.

"Military kids take a lot. They get all the bad, not always the good. Just to give them this gift, the excitement. It was hard to pull it off but it was good," said Tammy Morse.

Morese's son, Kyle, said the surprise was "pretty awesome" and that he enjoys the time when his dad is home.

Ronald Morse will soon retire after spending 30 years in the military.
