RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Most trees in Virginia are at peak, or past it, now. Leaf drop has been picking up, as well, over the last couple of weeks. The Foliage Network spotter for our region concluded in the final update for the 2012 season that our colors are done. “Any remaining fall foliage is isolated to extreme southeast Virginia and eastern North Carolina,” according to The Foliage Network.

However, there are still many trees clinging to their peak leaves right now in central Virginia, so enjoy them while they linger! Our next strong storm system will likely shake the majority of our remaining changing leaves to the ground.
