HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - The Hermitage Panthers won their 46th straight Colonial District game as they shut out Patrick Henry on Senior night, 42-0. The win caps the third straight undefeated regular season for Patrick Kane's team.
The Panthers blew open a scoreless tie by scoring 35 second quarter points, highlighted by a Brian Brown 86 yard interception return for a touchdown. Derrick Green ran for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns and Nathaniel Roscoe had a punt return for a score.
Hermitage (10-0) earns the top spot in this year's Division 6 playoffs and will host L.C. Bird next Friday night. This will be the third postseason meeting between Hermitage and Bird; each has won once by a field goal or less.
