TRAFFIC ALERT: 64 east reopens in New Kent

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Eastbound Interstate 64 reopened at Route 33 (mile marker 220) in New Kent County, according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.

Geller said police charged the driver of a 2003 Ford F-650 commercial pickup truck with failure to properly secure a loadafter a morning accident that completely closed the interstate’s eastbound lanes.

The driver, 43-year-old Jesus Cerritos, of Richmond, was not injured in the accident.

Police said the utility trailer Cerritos was towing came loose from his truck and overturned. The backhoe on the trailer into the roadway.
