Congressman Eric Cantor has risen in the political ranks, becoming one of the most powerful men in Washington. He ran a very aggressive campaign until the very end, to keep his opponent, Wayne Powell, away from his congressional seat.

Powell gained momentum in the homestretch and raised enough money to purchase TV ads. He was considered by many as the winner when the candidates debated.
