HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR) – A teenager shot on Halloween night has now been charged in connection with the shooting. Hopewell Police arrested nine people in all. The suspects include four adults and five people under the age of 18, according to an email from Hopewell Police Department Lt. Damon Stoker.
Two of the four adult suspects, 20-year-old Jaquan Dennis and 19-year-old Howard Jones, face assault by mob, gang participation and gang recruitment charges, according to police. Dion Saunders, 20, and Tonya Blizzard, 34, are charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Five minors, including the teenager who suffered the gunshot wound, were charged with various weapon and gang charges.
Police said the teenager was shot during an “ongoing dispute” along the 3600 block of Wilmington Ave. around 9:00 p.m. on Oct. 31. The teenager was last listed in stable, but serious condition.
