VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WTVR) – Republican presidential nominee Gov. Mitt Romney has canceled his event scheduled for Sunday in Virginia Beach.
His campaign sent out the notice Friday afternoon after forecasts for Sandy predict the storm will likely have a large impact on Virginia and the east coast.
The campaign said safety is its top priority — and that the rally will be rescheduled at a later date.
Romney still plans on holding a campaign rally at the University of Richmond on Sunday.
