(CBS) -Khalid Sheikh Mohammed appeared at a military hearing today with four other defendants accused of planning, financing, and preparing the September 11th attacks.

The five-day hearing will address a number of keys disputes, including whether the U.S. Government can censor information it has deemed classified.

Prosecutors want the judge to approve a protective order to keep the men from revealing what happened to them in the CIA's overseas prisons. Attorneys for the accused say such an order would hinder their defense.

The hearings are being held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and are being broadcast live at Fort Meade, Maryland.

But the broadcast has a 40-second delay in order to allow a military censor to block any information deemed classified.
