(CBS) In his first interview since revelations about an out-of-wedlock child he fathered with his housekeeper, former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger discusses his infidelities and reflects on the life he has written about in his upcoming autobiography, “Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story.”

“So you lied to her,” inquired journalist Lesley Stahl.

“You can say that,” responded Gov. Schwarzenegger.

“She gave up her television career for you…,” stated Stahl, going on to ask “was this just the most unbelievable act of betrayal, to Maria?”

The interview with Schwarzenegger will be broadcast on the 45th season premiere of 60 Minutes, Sunday, Sept. 30 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Stahl also accompanies him back to Thal, Austria, to visit his childhood home.

The book will be released Monday, Oct. 1, from Simon & Schuster, a company owned by CBS.

The book will trace Schwarzenegger’s life, from poor early years in Austria, to his rise to the top in America in bodybuilding, Hollywood and politics.

’60 Minutes’ begins its 45th season and debuts its iPhone app, adding 100 classics to the archive.
