CAROLINE COUNTY, VA. (WTVR) - State troopers are on the lookout for a carjacking duo they say are considered armed and dangerous.

It all started with an accident involving a stolen car followed by a carjacking.

Troopers say it played out on Route 1 in Caroline County last Saturday. Now, they need your help to find two suspects that they say are armed and dangerous.

Barber Kendell Wright's clippers were silent that day making it easy to hear what was happening outside.

"Things getting crazy man," he said. "I heard a big boom and there was this big accident outside."

State troopers say there was a two-car crash at the intersection of Marye and Route 1 in Caroline County. They were helping victims of one car when the driver and passenger of the other car involved, suddenly took off and they haven't been seen since.

“These two are considered armed and dangerous,” said Sgt. Thomas Molnar. “If you see them, don't approach them. Call police."

Dangerous, troopers say, because Cheryl Ruedi and Trent Brooks are accused of jabbing a weapon in the back of a motorist who happened to be passing by the accident scene and then stealing his pick-up truck.

That pick-up driver says Brooks told him he had a gun.

Reudi and Brooks are both wanted for the carjacking and for fleeing an accident scene. Troopers also say the car they crashed had been stolen.

“You know we are looking for you,” said Molnar. “Turn yourself in is the easiest way to solve this.”

The duo has been on the run for about a week, putting business owners in the area on high alert. All of them say they don't want trouble. "I don't want to be out there and have somebody try and do something to me," said Wright.
