SAN FRANCISCO (WTVR) - Remember the viral video of protesters being pepper-sprayed at the University of California Davis about a year ago?
Well, those Occupy protesters are now getting a large chunk of money from a settlement.
The university said Wednesday that it would pay $1 million to settle the lawsuit filed by the demonstrators. However, before it's a done deal, it must be approved by a federal judge.
Under the proposal, the university will pay out $30,000 to each of the 21 plaintiffs and an additional $250,000 for their attorneys.
The settlement also calls for the university to set aside money for any others who can prove they were pepper sprayed.
