FINAL SCORE FRIDAY: Highland Springs at Dinwiddie

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Highland Springs is serving notice that they are going to be a team to be reckoned with at the end of the season with their third big win of the year. The Springers traveled to Dinwiddie and knocked off the 8th ranked Generals 28-26 Friday night.

Highland Springs opened the scoring on a DJ Johnson TD pass to Desmond Cawthon. The Springers led 21-7 at the half.

In the second half, Dinwiddie came back behind QB Ronald Kearney who connected with JaQuan Poarch on a 35 yard TD pass to close the gap to 21-14. Then Kearney scored on a QB keeper to pull the Generals to within 1.

But Highland Springs answered with a 50 yard Daryl Wilson TD run to put the game out of reach. The 4th ranked Springers improve to 3-0 overall and have a huge showdown with #5 Hanover next week. Dinwiddie falls to 1-2.
