Apartments where deadly shooting happened changes policy

Posted

Richmond, VA (WTVR) – An apartment complex where two men were shot over dog feces earlier this year is making changes.

In an e-mail to the City of Richmond, the property manager for the Tobacco Factory Apartments on Stockton Street says starting November 30th, the complex will no longer allow pets of any kind. Existing tenants will be asked to remove them or vacate the premises.

You might remember in the past, some tenants had complained of unsanitary conditions because of animal waste.

Police say a dispute over dog droppings in a hallway led to the shooting death of two brothers, Ahmad and Akeem Philips back in April.
