CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police and the FBI are continuing to investigate an abduction outside a Chesterfield business. Witnesses told police two men grabbed Paresh Patel, 44, from outside his Raceway Gas Station around 6:00 a.m. Sunday. Patel owns the business off the 5600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

“A witness reported that an owner was entering the store when he was abducted by two men, and they left in a dark-colored van or SUV,” Chesterfield Police Lt. Randy Horowitz said.

The FBI joined in the investigation by Sunday evening.

"When I looked at the reports that have already come out, and noticed that the FBI was involved in the case, then that's a strong indication that there's probably some other type of motive in addition to just an abduction," said former Chesterfield Police Capt. Steve Neal. "The FBI is typically not going to be involved in a case unless there is something like movement across state lines or sometime of other situation."

Patel's family has asked for privacy at this time.

Patel is 5’4”, 136 pounds, 44-years old, with black hair and brown eyes.

He is of Asian and Indian decent.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chesterfield County Police at 804-748-1251.
