HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Trucks displaying images of aborted fetuses drove along Broad Street Monday. The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform (CBR) said it planned to drive the trucks around Richmond on Tuesday as well.

In a press statement, CBR said it hoped the trucks educate voters about abortion.

The trucks feature large images of first-trimester abortions.

“The display of these graphic images in public is highly controversial,” said Dr. Kevin Olivier, Logistics Coordinator at the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, in a media statement. “But CBR believes that these images are indispensable because they communicate to voters at a glance the crucial fact that abortion is a brutal act of violence that kills a baby.”

CBR said it is driving the trucks in several so-called battleground states leading up to November’s election.

Cianti Stewart-Reid, Executive Director Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, said she agreed the women’s health should be part of the discussion in the upcoming election.

While not directly commenting on the CBR’s trucks, she said women of Virginia deserve representatives who will champion women’s health.

She added Planned Parenthood is also taking steps to make sure Virginia voters are informed ahead of the election.
