Five-alarm fire destroys waterfront hotel

PORTLAND, Oregon (CNN) –   A vacant hotel in Portland, Oregon was destroyed by fire early this morning.

You can see from this video just how massive the blaze was.  

Firefighters battled the flames from the ground and by boat.  

The hotel had been vacant since 2005.  

Officials expect the building to smolder for several days.   No one was hurt.
