RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)—A new website has launched, courtesy of Virginia government, that is intended to help homeowners, professionals, kids and gardeners learn how to use pesticides safely.

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services compiled resources to help the public manage best pest issues.

Website users can find info about common pests of the home, lawn and garden, along with the information about which options and practices best manage those pests.

There are sections on how to select a pesticide, and how to use it safely—or how to best select a pest control firm if necessary.

Commissioner Matt Lohr said that information about seasonal pests and emerging pests will be added throughout the year.

Lohr said that the information was compiled from a variety of sources including federal and state governments, universities and professional organizations.

There is even a “kid’s only” section of the website.
