RICHMOND (WTVR) – Mayor Dwight Jones could continue to run unopposed, unless a judge rules another candidate is eligible.

Today, attorneys for the City Registrar, State Board of Elections, and Richmond Electoral Board denied that Michael Ryan, Jr. who wants to challenge the mayor was wrongfully kicked off the ballot.

They’re responding to a lawsuit filed last month saying that mistakes were made in disqualifying Ryan from the ballot.

If attorneys from both sides cannot reach agreement, then the case will be decided in a courtroom.
