RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Police are investigating after a man on a scooter was hit by a car Wednesday afternoon in downtown Richmond.
It happened around 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of North 8th and East Franklin streets.
Richmond Police’s Dionne Waugh said the man on the scooter headling east on Franklin ran a red light. He was hit by a vehicle heading south on 8th.
Waugh said the scooter rider did suffer minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Officials said charges against the driver of the scooter are pending .
