HANCOCK, MS. (WTVR)–Passing motorists who saw smoke billowing from a stand of pine trees along Interstate 10 in Mississippi rescued a woman and her disabled teenage daughter trapped inside a wrecked, burning sport utility vehicle.

The Associated Press reports that around 15 motorists, including an AP photographer, managed to help save the two females.

The vehicle caught fire and as flames spread, the driver screamed in panic. Fortunately, truckers stopped at the scene and quickly grabbed fire extinguishers to control the fire as people worked to remove the driver.
