One injured in Williamsburg Road shooting

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)—CBS 6 is on the scene of a shooting in the East End of Richmond.

Police responded to the 2200 block of Williamsburg road, just inside of Richmond city, right near the city and county boundary. There they found a young black male, in his 20s, suffering from gunshot wound.

Investigation revealed that the victim was actually shot near the area of Airport Square Lane in Henrico County and then driven to the Williamsburg Road residence before seeking medical attention.

Police said the victim was transported to VCU Medical Center with serious injuries.

Henrico Police detectives said they are at both scenes and have strong leads in this case.

Henrico Police does ask that anyone who was in the area of Oakley’s Lane and Airport Square Lane in the time frame of 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., who might have witnessed any shooting, to contact Henrico Police at 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
