JAMESTOWN, N.C. (WGHP) — An Amtrak passenger train collided with a tractor-trailer carrying limestone Thursday afternoon in Jamestown, North Carolina.
The accident was reported at the multi-arm railroad crossing shortly before 1:30 p.m.
Deputies with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office confirmed there are three victims with injuries, though the injuries are believed to be minor.
Deputies believe the train hit the trailer of the truck, which they said was hauling limestone.
The train was headed to Raleigh, North Carolina.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
