Four separate shootings in violent Richmond night

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)–It has been a busy night for Richmond Police and a violent night in the city as officers work four separate shooting scenes; all that occurred within two and a half hours on Monday night.

Three shootings were in Southside and one in the Northside.

Around 8:20 p.m. shots rang out at the Southwood apartments, off of Treehaven Drive, not too far from Hull Street. A Hispanic man was confirmed dead and there is no suspect yet in custody. This is under investigation as a homicide.

Then just minutes later, a shooting in the 3400 block of Midlothian. That individual has been taken to the hospital.

“Other than the fact that these shootings occurred in South Richmond within a few minutes of each other, we have any developed any information to believe that they may be related in any way,” said Gene Lepley with the Richmond Police.” “We’re still working through that right now.”

A third shooting occurred just after 10 p.m., confirmed Lepley, on Lenmore Street, not too far from Oak Grove Elementary School. An individual was transported to VCU Medical Center

The fourth shooting was confirmed shortly after 10:45, on Pollock Street between Utah and Dill Avenue.
