LEXINGTON, Kentucky (WLEX) - Newly released video of a tornado hitting a Kentucky grade school -- and injuring and an employee -- shows the extreme power of the storm.
The video begins by showing the inside of the Salyersville Grade School gym on the evening of March 2. Multiple cameras capture the EF3 tornado as it slams into the building.
Another camera shows the storm's impact on two maintenance employees, who were inside when the tornado hit. First, the storm forces the pair to move to an interior door to see what is going on. Then, the force of the tornado sucks one of the men right into a stairwell.
The school was destroyed in the powerful storm, but students and teachers went back to classes in a renovated warehouse Tuesday.
