RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Cirque du Soleil has been entertaining and fascinating audiences with its unique performers and performances since 1984.

It started in a small town near Quebec City in Canada with a group of colorful street artists performing on stilts, breathing fire, juggling, dancing and playing music. Today the group of twenty now boasts to five thousand employees, including more than 1,300 artists from over 50 countries.

"Dralion" a signature Cirque Du Soleil, East meets West : The Dragon and The Lion. Dralion fuses the 3,000 year old tradition of Chinese acrobatic arts and features 50 international acrobats, gymnasts, musicians and singers. This popular touring show opens Wednesday, August 8th and runs through Sunday August 12th at the Richmond Coliseum for seven performances.
