PLEASANTON, Ca (WTVR) – Many call 10-year-old California boy, the Curiosity kid.

The young boy is not only following Curiosity’s adventure on Mars, but Andrew Sundquist’s name is on the rover.

In 2009, Andrew and his dad signed up on the NASA website.

Now his name is on a microchip on the back of the rover.

Andrew has been a part of Curiosity’s 8-month journey through space.

Even watching the Rover’s close to perfect landing.

Curiosity;s mission is to hunt for signs of life on Mars and signs that Earth’s creatures may not be alone in the Universe.
