RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Be on the lookout for a large
convoy that could slow traffic along Interstate 64 and 295 today.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said the “oversize load” is on its way thru Richmond to Hampton Road. VDOT spokeswoman Sundra Hominik said the 15-foot wide, 245-foot long load was a press crown, a piece of equipment used to make cars. She said it would be in the area between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The convoy would make it way from I-64 east from mile marker 145  I-295 (exit 177) in Short Pump, VDOT announced. From there the convoy would continue on I-295 to I-64 east (exit 28). The convoy would then continue along I-64 east to I-664 south (exit 264) in Hampton.

Drivers would be allowed to pass the convoy, VDOT said. However it warned drivers to expect  delays along two-lane sections of I-64 in Goochland and New Kent.
