Richmond, VA (WTVR) – The Virginia Department of Taxation is predicting more families than ever will take advantage of this weekend’s “Back-To-School” tax holiday.
Virginia’s sales tax-free holiday started at midnight Friday, August 3rd and runs through Sunday, August 5th.
During those three days you can buy school supplies, clothes, backpacks and in some cases, electronics, without paying the state’s five percent sales-tax.
School supplies must cost less than $20 a piece. Clothing must cost $100 or less.
