CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WTVR) – The University of Virginia says donations to the school have surged since the reinstatement of ousted President Teresa Sullivan.

The school brought in $44-million in pledges in June, the most of any month since 2008.

Two months ago, Sullivan was ousted as UVA’s president after the school’s Board of Visitors criticized her for not meeting fundraising goals.

After an uproar on campus from students and faculty, as well as state lawmakers, Sullivan was reinstated weeks later.
