MADISON COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A murder suspect is talking about why he attacked his own lawyer in court.
Rashad Riddick punched his attorney during a hearing Wednesday in Madison County, causing guards to evacuate the courtroom.
During a jailhouse interview, Riddick told WCAV-TV that he was tired and frustrated. He said he was upset his legal team is trying to make a case that he is not competent to stand trial, so he said he attacked the lawyer to try and sabotage his own defense.
Riddick was charged in connection with the murders of three people in February of last year.
