GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVR) – Authorities in North Carolina said a couple was so high on bath salts that they actually called 911 for help earlier this week.

Police said Donna and Phillip Walls were arrested after the couple called 911 in a panic because they believed gang members were under their house – and trying to get inside.

"There are people under our house… They were there yesterday and last night," Donna Walls told dispatchers.

One neighbor told WSOC-TV that she believes the delusional couple did think somebody "was out to kill them."

Residents said they spotted the couple running around the neighborhood armed with a military bag filled with knives and guns.

At one point, police said the woman fired off seven shots in the air while children were playing outside.

After that, police said the pair forced their way into a pastor’s house, who lives across the street. Luckily, he was able to convince them to hand over the guns.

Authorities said that the couple does have a history of using bath salts, but this is the first time their drug use has turned so extreme.
