Virginia’s sales tax holiday on school supplies is this weekend

Richmond, VA (WTVR) – If you need to buy back to school items for your kids, you may want to go shopping this weekend. Virginia’s sales tax free holiday begins this Friday, August 3rd and runs through Sunday, August 5th.

During those three days you can buy school supplies, clothes, backpacks and in some cases, electronics, without paying the state’s five percent sales tax.

To apply, school supplies must cost less than $20 a piece.

Clothing must cost $100 or less.
