COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVR) – There has been some confusion over whether murder suspect, Nathan Summerfield, was arrested Monday night by police in Columbus, Ohio.
First, a message board posted that Summerfield had been arrested. Also, an NBC affiliate in Columbus originally reported that police arrested Summerfield after a high-speed chase that ended in Coschoton County, Ohio.
Summerfield is wanted in connection in the death of his ex-girlfriend, Lynn Jackenheimer. Her body was found, stabbed and strangled, in Frisco, N.C. on July 14. Jackenheimer’s funeral service was on Monday.
WAVY-TV 10, that covers Hampton Roads, Virginia, and North Carolina contacted the Coschoton County Sheriff’s office, and were told by Lt. Kobel that the man his deputies arrested was not Nathan Summerfield.
Last week, a woman reported seeing Summerfield in Columbus, allegedly trying to switch license plates on a metallic grey Honda Civic. Police investigated that sighting and could not find him.
