New bus route in Petersburg could ease traffic on 460

Petersburg, Va (WTVR) – If you use Route 460 in Petersburg a new bus route may help your commute. The 460 Bus Route will begin this Saturday, July 21, 2012.

A celebration of the new transit service begins at 8:50am when the first bus leaves Petersburg Station located at 100 West Washington Street. The bus will depart with it’s first passengers at 9:30am. The public is invited to attend the celebration at the Panaderia Bakery stop.

The new bus route will operate Monday through Thursday from 6:15am to 6:15pm, and Friday and Saturday from 6:15am to 7:15pm.

Here’s the route: Petersburg Station to Wythe Street, to I-95 South, to Business 460 East to County Drive – Panaderia Bakery, St. Andrews Church, Pine Tree Apartments, to Wagner Road – McDonalds, Department of Motor Vehicles, to South Crater Road – Walgreens, Martins, and Walmart, to Medical Park Drive – Southside Regional Medical Center, Social Security Administration, and the Appomattox Regional Wellness Center.
The bus returns back to the Petersburg Station using Wagner Road – McDonalds, to Business 460 West – Pine Tree Apartment, 2773 County Drive, to Stedman Road – behind Roma’s Pizza, to Business 460 West – C.L. Roberts, to Windfield Road – Econo-Lodge, to South Crater Road to on-ramp to I-95 North to Washington Street – Madison St., to Petersburg Station.
