CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR)—A teenager has drowned at the Falling Creek reservoir, confirmed Lt. Jason Elmore.
Lt. Carpenter confirmed that Chesterfield dive team pulled a body out of the water.
Shortly after 6 p.m., Chesterfield Fire Department was called to assist Chesterfield police, at 4200 October Road.
A group of teenagers were swimming together, when they spotted incoming storms. As the teenagers headed back to shore, one went under. A 19-year-old male body was recovered at 6:48 p.m. by the dive team.
Chesterfield Police are investigating but there does not appear to be any criminal activity, said Lt. Elmore.
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
