RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Czech Republic news website blesk.cz published what it called the first interview with Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe since the Richmonder was detained late last month.

Lamb of God management confirmed to CBS 6 that Blythe did answer questions, in written form, for the newspaper.

Here are some interview excerpts translated through Google translator and edited for clarity.

Again, these are not direct quotes:

QUESTION: What happened during the incident at the club in 2010?

RANDY BLYTHE: I do not remember, because I have a lot of concerts. I just remember that the club had a small stage, which barely fit the group. I did not attack anyone.

QUESTION: How have you spent your time in custody?

ANSWER: I read, I write letters to friends, family and also write in my diary.  I’m starting to write a book about Pankrác prison and write lyrics.

QUESTION: Do you have reservations about the work of the Czech police and justice in your case?

ANSWER: As for the police, I believe that it is very professional and it follows the principles of good conduct. But in terms of justice, frankly I do not understand because it is different than the U.S.. I thought that if the group paid bail, I’d be released.

QUESTION: If you pass bail and gain your freedom, what are your future plans?

ANSWER:  If I go back to the U.S., I have to mow the lawn, spend some time with family and plunge back into performing, so I can pay for legal services.  If I have to stay in the Czech Republic, I would look at the sights, especially in Prague. I find, wherever Kafka went , and I will eat dumplings.

In late June, Blythe, 41, was picked up at the airport when Lamb of God arrived in Prague for a concert. He is accused of manslaughter in the 2010 death of a fan and faces five to 10 years if convicted.

Thursday, a panel of municipal court judges will meet to review a Czech Republic prosecutor’s challenge of Blythe’s bail.

The Prague Post reported if Blythe’s bail is revoked, the singer could be kept in prison for up to six months prior to trial. [Read: U.S. Dept. of State says no comment on jailed Lamb of God singer]
