HENRICO COUNTY, Va (WTVR) - There is new information about the man police are calling a person of interest in a double murder investigation in Blackstone.

Henrico police confirmed that Virginia State Police and U.S. Marshals executed search warrants Friday on Cool Lane near the Henrico-Richmond border.

That’s where Clyde Cecil Armstrong was arrested on drug related charges.

Marchella Davis looked through the window of her Eastern Henrico home Friday and spotted police officers searching the house next door.

"When the policeman came to the door, all he said was it was serious,” said Davis. “It's pretty scary. I mean this is a nice neighborhood."

Blackstone Police Chief Nick Kusmiak told CBS 6 News that Armstrong has been identified as a person of interest in their double murder investigation.

Officers believe Armstrong has key information about the shooting deaths of Brian Jones and his pregnant girlfriend, Jasmine Morrison. The couple were found dead in their Blackstone home by a concerned neighbor around 3 p.m. Wednesday. Both victims were found on the first floor, but in separate rooms.

Kusmiak said Jones and Morrison were targeted -- and that it was not a random shooting.

Davis told CBS 6 News’ Jake Burns that she had been following the Blackstone murders even before Friday. She says as a mother and a grandmother herself, her heart aches for the families of the victims.

“And this woman was expecting a child, and to think somebody just took her life like that,” said Davis. “That's unbelievable to me -- and as a mother unbearable.”

If you have any information that could help investigators, call Blackstone Police at 434-292-3322 or Virginia State Police at 804-674-2000.
