RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)--Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones held a press conference today at the city’s Cooling Station located at Southside Community Services Center.

The mayor said that with the exception of Fire Station 17, all essential buildings such as hospitals, police and fire stations are fully operational.

However, Mayor Jones said that roughly 13,000 Richmond residents are still without power and crews are working to remove trees from at least 90 locations in the city.

The mayor commended city agencies for their response to this weekend’s storms.

He also asked residents to be cautious at night, because some city street lights are out and several intersections are still without power.
