NEW YORK (WTVR) – Scientists and doctors have come up with a potential vaccine to help you quit smoking.

Researchers in New York tested the vaccine on mice and discovered that a single dose protects against nicotine addiction for a lifetime.

Doctors say the vaccine works by introducing antibodies into your system that attack the nicotine before it reaches the brain and heart.

However, officials say more testing is needed before the product is sold in stores.
