NORFOLK, Va. (WTVR) –  An Old Dominion University star football player and one other student are set to be arraigned  Monday morning on rape charges.

Our sister station,  WTKR in Norfolk,  reports  ODU Wide Receiver, Reid Evans,  and Jack Ly are facing rape charges, in connection with an investigation of several reported sexual assaults in a campus residence hall on June 17th.

The university sent out an email to students, alerting them to the  incidents. The alleged victims reported feeling heavily drunk, sick and dizzy– inconsistent with what they’d had to drink. Investigators think it is consistent with some sort of date rape drug.

Coach Bobby Wilder responded to the charges, saying ” We respect the due process of our legal system as these charges are investigated, however I want to ensure the integrity of our football program and university are not compromised throughout this process.”
