Richmond, VA (WTVR) – An overnight police chase ended with a crash in Richmond.
Police told CBS 6 News that the pursuit began just before 3 a.m. near the intersection of Broad and 17th Streets when an officer attempted to stop a car for driving without headlights.
Officers said the car took off, leading them on a chase that ended when the driver lost control near 18th and Venable Streets. Police said the car drove up on a curb and hit a streetlight, which fell onto a police car.
The officer wasn’t hurt, but the suspect did suffer minor injuries.
Police said charges against the driver are pending.
The intersection of Venable and 18th Streets remained closed for hours while the crash team investigated the accident.
