CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A Chesterfield judge appointed attorney Neil Stout to represent the man accused of trying to shoot another lawyer Thursday afternoon.

The accused triggerman is Mark Lowe, who appeared by way of video conference from the Chesterfield Jail Friday.  Also during the pre-trial the judge ordered no bond at this time. [BONUS: Attorney targeted by gunman recounts harrowing ordeal]

A scary scene played out Thursday afternoon at an office building near the Chesterfield County Courthouse.  Police say Mark Lowe, 41, had a rifle and shot at his estranged wife's attorney, David DeFazio, who represented her in a child custody case.  Investigators say Lowe was not happy with the ruling and took his anger out on the attorney.

DeFazio said he found himself in the line of fire, but was able to escape unharmed.

Lowe has been charged with attempted murder, abduction, two counts of use of a firearm in a felony and shooting into an occupied dwelling.  Lowe's preliminary hearing is set for September 13, at 1:00 p.m.
