City pools slated to open Saturday

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – There will be some much needed relief for some folks after a scorching weekend — and forecast highs in the 80s for the River City  this week.

Officials announced Tuesday that the city’s swimming pools will open this weekend.

The city’s six pools, which are free and have lifeguards on duty at all times, are scheduled to open at noon on Saturday, June 16.

The pool will be open from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the week and from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Additionally, adult and family swim hours are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays.

  • Battery Park Pool — 2917 Dupont Circle
  • Blackwell Pool — 238 East 14th Street
  • Hotchkiss Pool — 701 East Brookland Park Boulevard
  • Powhatan Pool — 5051 Northhampton Street
  • Randolph Pool — 1401 Grayland Avenue
  • Woodville Pool — 2305 Fairfield Avenue

The pools are managed by Richmond’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities.
