RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - New technology is helping CBS 6 News and WTVR.com provide more complete coverage of severe weather and breaking news.

Check out these videos for some examples of just a few of these new tools. One advancement in live broadcasting allows the station to quickly -- and safely -- get the first LIVE images of severe weather and breaking news and traffic on TV and on our website. You may have seen this technology during "Beat the Traffic" reports on CBS 6 News This Morning.

Another innovation is DopplerMax3D. Some recent display improvements to this integral technology have made it easier for viewers to see inside storms.

Of course, while these new advances in technology are beneficial, the station has a more vital asset. CBS 6 News has the area's most experienced reporters, anchors and staffers who are proud to call Central Virginia home.

You can depend on CBS 6 News and WTVR.com for the most complete coverage of breaking news, severe weather and in-depth investigative reports. Plus, CBS 6 News has more local stories that you just won't find on other stations.

Thank you for making CBS 6 News and WTVR.com Central Virginia's fastest growing -- and most honored -- broadcast news organization.
