A new study might have you watching what you eat. It found there could be flame retardant in some of your food.
Researchers at the University of Texas sampled 36 foods in 2009 and 2010. They found nearly half, including peanut butter, deli meats, and poultry had detectable levels of flame retardant.
Chemicals in flame retardant can cause hormone or thyroid issues. But the Environment Protection Agency says the levels found aren’t enough to cause health problems. They believe runoff into water and the soil may be the cause.
