(WTVR) - In one month any driver who is convicted of a DUI will be forced to have an ignition interlock on their car.

The current law says the system isn't used unless someone is convicted of driving under the influence twice or has a blood alcohol level that's twice the legal limit.

The interlock system connects a vehicles ignition to an analyzer that measures a driver's blood alcohol content.

If the driver's blood alcohol is more than .02 percent the car won't start.

It can also do random tests, that trigger lights and horns if they are ignored or the driver exceeds the limit.
