BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WTVR)  - A 911 call made by a student on a school bus that flipped over has been released.

The accident happened Wednesday morning while the bus was carrying children to school in Botetourt County.

Police say the bus driver, Mary Elizabeth Esque of Eagle Rock, was distracted by a student on the bus and lost control.

On the 911 call, you can hear students screaming in the background as a male student on the bus tells the dispatcher that the bus was upside down and students were bleeding.

Thirteen students suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The bus' driver has been charged with reckless driving.
