RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Today was the first SpaceX demonstration day in orbit of the Dragon spacecraft, which is undergoing a series of tests to prove it is ready to dock with the International Space Station on Friday, May 25, 2012. The SpaceX Dragon capsule closed in on the International Space Station early Thursday morning for a series of tests from turning on and off lights to testing communications between the vessel and the ISS. All of the tests so far today have been successful.  Once the checklist is complete, NASA will clear it for its final rendezvous and grapple with the Space Station on Friday.
