Five adults charged in pellet gun incident near elementary schools

CULPEPER COUNTY, Va (WTVR)- Five people have been arrested for a frightening gun incident that took place near two elementary schools.

Culpeper County Police tell CBS6 a gun was pointed at a school bus as it traveled between A. G Richardson and Pearl Sample elementary schools.

While the gun looked like an assault weapon, but investigators say it was actually a plastic pellet gun.

Police tell us the man who was holding the gun was at a hotel across the street from the schools, and that children were on the bus when he pointed the gun at them.

Five suspects were taken into custody.

Investigators are still trying to figure out which one pointed the gun at the bus.

Michael P. Rhodes, 33, of North Wilkesboro N.C. , Sarah J. Alexander, 24, of Millers Creek N.C., Tyler L. Hamilton, 20, of North Wilkesboro N.C., Corey J. Ester, 20, of Wilkesboro N.C. and  Joshua D. Sigler, 19, of Culpeper were arrested.

Sigler and Alexander are being held at the Culpeper County Jail on $15,000 secured bonds. Rhodes, Hamilton and Ester are being held at the jail with no bond
