Arrest made after fatal motorcycle crash

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond police say, Marcus A. Taylor, 29, of the 2700 block of Lauradale Lane, was arrested Thursday in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash that happened this past Monday.

Taylor has been charged with two felony counts of hit and run and one misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license. More charges are possible pending the investigation.

The crash happened Monday afternoon when witnesses say a pair of motorcyclists were driving east on Warwick Road towards Dorset Road. Taylor was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry in the opposite direction when he turned on to Dorset pulling in front of the two motorcyclists police said.

Both motorcyclists were thrown off of their vehicles once they were struck by the Toyota. The motorcyclists were then taken to VCU Medical Center for their injuries. Delvin Maurice Edmonds, 34, of the 3200 block of Cullenwood Drive, later died. The other motorcyclist’s injuries were not life-threatening according to police.
